Okay, Cook County residents. It’s not bad enough that the majority of you re-elected a corrupt, self-aggrandizing jackass to be Board president. The sweetest plum is that you re-elected a man who is, like, one step removed from being in a coma! I mean, Stroger was already incompetent to begin with. I shudder to think about how he’s gonna execute his job duties in a state of failing health.
I’m sorry Stroger had a stroke right before the primaries. No, really, I am. It’s a little hard for me to feel bad for him, though, when he’s seeking treatment in the private sector and not in the public-health hospital he went and named after himself. Still, 52% of the greater Chicago area RE-ELECTED HIM! WTF?! If you live in Chicago and cast a ballot for this bonehead, I do not want to hear complaint numero uno about the corrupt Daley machine having its way with our fair city.
And, as for you, Mr. Forrest Claypool? Shame on you for giving your concession speech before each and every last one of those ballots were counted. You are an A-1 wuss who totally gives the grass-roots movement a bad name.
(ETA: Perhaps I’m coming down a tad harshly on Claypool. Sorry ’bout that. I just have a lot of unresolved anger about Democrats in general right now.)
